WHAT IS LTE-M

LTE-M, the abbreviation for LTE Cat-M1, is a new Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technology, developed for IoT applications. It is a protocol for low bandwidth cellular communications that connects to the internet low complexity devices that transmits small amounts of data over long periods of time, with low power consumption.

LTE-M’s wider bandwith allows to achieve greater data rates, lower latency and more accurate device positioning.

This communications protocol also supports voice and mobility, provides extended coverage and is ideal for machine to machine communications and solutions that uses IoT devices. It is the key element to improve the efficient use of resources.
